From Global Safety to Scalable Impact
The India AI Impact Summit builds on a global progression, from Bletchley Park’s focus on safety in 2023 to institutional frameworks in Seoul in 2024, and concrete action in Paris in 2025.
Now, the focus shifts to what matters most: safe and scalable impact, how AI can meaningfully improve lives, expand human capabilities, and serve people and societies equitably.
AI Adoption Is Harder Than Invention
This is not a technology problem alone. It is a design challenge at the level of systems. AI adoption is proving harder than invention, just as it was for electricity. Real value emerges through diffusion: widespread, contextual adoption that requires complementary shifts in infrastructure, workflows, institutions, governance, and mindsets to deliver on AI’s promise across sectors.
In the spirit of the Italy-Africa Mattei Plan, the UNDP Strategic Plan—which positions AI as a key accelerator for human development on a healthy planet—and the African Union Continental AI Strategy, the G7 AI Hub for Sustainable Development powered by Italy and implemented by UNDP is building a coordinated ecosystem approach.
This creates new breakthroughs in win-win partnerships among energy and connectivity providers, critical minerals supply chains, and compute and data infrastructure actors, providing pathways for private sector and start-ups to invest, deploy, and scale right-sized, locally powered AI infrastructure.
Co-Architecting AI Adoption
Scaling AI is not about one breakthrough. It is about aligning systems, contexts, and people. The AI Hub for Sustainable Development, working with our India partner People + AI and stakeholders across the private sector and partners in Africa is inviting our private sector partners across the G7, Africa, Italy and the EU to shape the future of the AI Adoption Network.
We are inviting innovators and practitioners to share their experience and ideas on how to scale AI adoption networks. Winning ideas will receive access to compute through the AI Hub for Sustainable Development Compute Accelerator, alongside an invitation to participate in the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi
